Hello all,
I have become a distributor for a network marketing company that is new to Michigan. I am really excited about it, and so far it is working out way better than I had expected. I spend a lot of time online and I was wondering if anyone knew of some good place for me to advertise my business on line. If you know of any web pages where people would go to look for this kind of thing please let me know.
Thanks, Stan.
Hey Stan, all the answers provided are excellent places and strategies for promotion.
Just be careful to NEVER promote your mlm itself. 99% people out there DON’T need another mlm, they need a system.
You will need to promote the SYSTEM. That is where ALL the money is.
MLM is a giant gold mine. How many strike it rich, finding the elusive gold nuggets? 99% of the time, nobody.
How many make money selling tools to gold-diggers? A much, much higher percentage.
Do yourself a favor and promote the system instead of your mlm. Sell the tools (auto-responders, keyword software, etc) to other distributors of your company, make instant commissions on them fast, don’t wait for your first mlm commission. You’ll wait forever.
The money is all is promoting the system, mlm is just a secondary income stream. Plus if you use a system, signing up distributors in your company can be easier BUT USING A SYSTEM DOESN’T MEAN GUARANTEE SUCCESS, to be honest.
But it does help. A lot.
Promote the system in the front-end, help other fellow distributors with utmost necessary tools that will help them in their mlm business, pocket the instant commissions from selling them and sign up distributors in the back-end.
That is the mlm formula for success that 99% of mlm distributors do not use. Be that smart one percenter.
DO NOT PLUG YOUR MLM, PLUG THE SYSTEM. Don’t be another mlm casualty.
If you are already using one, RIGHT ON! If not, read the sales pitch on this one:

In case I’m repeating myself, THE MONEY IS IN SELLING THE SYSTEM.

Anyone have a good example of a business plan related to rental property investing that has helped secure financing.
First, determine your initial outlay, or what it will cost to acquire the property and get it ready for tenants. This amount, minus whatever down payment you have, is the amount you will need to borrow. It includes:
the purchase price of the property
any renovations and improvements, including permits
a home inspection and/or appraisal
the real estate agent’s and lawyer’s fee
Then you’ll need to estimate your monthly expenses, or what it will cost to maintain the property:
mortgage and interest payments
property taxes
insurance
utilities (not including those expenses you’ll charge tenants)
administrative costs (office supplies, transportation, etc.)
management fee (if you’re hiring someone else to look after the property)
maintenance and upkeep
classified advertising
This total will tell you how much rental income you’ll need to make the property profitable. This is fairly simple if you’re just renting out one apartment, or even a whole house. If you have several units to rent, your market research may take some time. You’ll have to compare your figures with rents for similar properties in your neighborhood to see if you will be competitive. Your city may also have regulations that limit how much you’re allowed to charge.
Once you’re confident that your rental income will exceed your operating costs, you’ll want to consider the long-term outlook, or how the numbers will change over the life of your investment. Consider factors such as:
inflation
the appreciation or depreciation of the property
interest rates on your loan
Of course, these are difficult to predict accurately. As long as you understand your city’s rent control regulations, you should be able to forecast how much your rental income will rise over the years.
There are some common pitfalls in rental property business plans. Perhaps the most common is underestimating the amount of money you’ll spend on maintenance and upkeep. Your monthly estimate should budget for the major repairs that will inevitably come your way. Remember, too, that tenants don’t always pay on time. Think about how your cash flow will be affected by a late check or two — will you need a line of credit to sustain you, and can you afford the interest charges that accompany it?
A spreadsheet can give you a rough tally of these figures. Once you’re ready to look for financing, you may want to purchase books or software with business plan templates to make your document look more professional, and to make sure you haven’t left anything out.
Hope this helps.

I want to study business marketing online while I baby-sit. Well… when the baby is asleep of course! Any recommendations? Hopefully it’s an online college you’ve actually experienced so I can get a more accurate answer. Thanks!
Okay, I am biased because I work for an online university. However, there are a few things to consider when looking for a school. You really want to be care full as you may not always be getting the full truth. The best way to do your research is through non-biased independent resources that list online schools. The major resource is http://www.oedb.com/rankings – this is where you will find school rankings based on raw numbers, not motivated by add revenue. I am looking for easy cost free Ideas to ad to my computer business. I am mobile tech service, upgrades, repair, networking, custom built systems, etc….Currently added personal item sales on ebay and craigslist. My first year was rough and I dumped a bundle into advertising, I’ve had to do other work not related to my business just to keep it alive. This redirects my focus away from my business. I would like to keep focused on my own business.
I do what you do and have found that the best source of new customers is your existing customers.
Here is what I do.
Whenever I leave a customers house I try to get a written recommendation from them and 3 names that may need my services in the future. I then send a custom letter that says that says something along the lines of "I recently finished some work for xxx and they suggested I contact you regarding your <computer system, technology needs, whatever fits>."
I enclose the recommendation along with a business card, a coupon for something(usually 50% off their first service call), and a personal note that I will be contacting them in the next few days.
I then wait a week and follow up with a telephone call to introduce myself.
The personal recommendation establishes credibility and makes it much easier to find out how I can help them.

I am trying to put together a postcard for my business that I am opening, and I can’t figure out what it should say. My company is a web design firm. Any suggestions??
Hi there! What is your company name? Do you have a logo?
If you create a postcard them make sure it is very simple, for example, on the front have a picture and a tagline with your web address at the bottom and more information on the back.
Make sure that this same image is on your website and also in any other marketing you do for the launch – as you will definately need to put an ad in the local paper and let other businesses know about it.
Remember in marketing that less is more.
If you want some examples of design check out http://www.northridgecreations.com.au and go to the portfolio page.
All the best!
